Each of the ten tracks on ‘The Sky of You’, are Jyoti Verhoeff’s inner reflections on the current global situation, and poetically trying to find love and shelter in a world of chaos. Or in Jyoti’s own words, “Sadly there are religious, political, cultural and personal conditionings and beliefs that are producing harm instead of pure love. This idea was visualized when the release of the first single track, ‘Vision’ (March/2021) was combined with the images of a video, “Elements’, from artist Gerard Boymans. According to Jyoti this ‘symbolized a deep purification from acts that are destroying our natural world in the name of power, progress and evolution.” Released June 25, 2021 via OOB Records. ‘The Sky of you’ includes several collaborations with Artists from diverse genres: Kalin Yordanov, Meidi Goh, The Wong Janice, Henk Philhelmon Bol, Philip Xander Steenbergen, Erwin Tuijl, Karwan Hamid Haraq and Fraukje Ramona Weishaupt. The result is a mesmerising mixture of sounds shifting from Jyoti’s trademark, dark ambient folk to an unexpected neo-classic progressive rock vibe, underscored with cinematic style.  Jyoti Verhoeff is a singer-songwriter, composer and pianist. At the age of four, she discovered the expressionistic power of the grand piano, while visiting the house of composer Simeon ten Holt, a friend of the family. She started playing by herself at the age of eight when her parents bought her a piano. Having been born with a visual disability, she had to find ways beyond the traditional means of studying music to express her rich inner world through the piano and with her voice. Because of her dedication and unique talent for music she was able to develop a virtuoso piano technique and an authentic and organic style of composing.
