Philhelmon is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist and producer Henk Philhelmon Bol, a veteran in the Dutch music scene, whose musical journey began in 1969 with the formation of Bluesgroup Crusade, later evolving into Progressive Rockgroup Crusade until its disbandment in 1974. Over the years, Bol honed his skills in production, composition, and engineering, building a home studio where he recorded his first solo project, Different Places, Different Faces (1985). After reuniting Blues Crusade in 1990 and joining the crossover band Precious Time (releasing albums in 2003 and 2005), Bol turned to a new studio project which he named, Philhelmon, with the first album release, Enjoy It While It Lasts (2012), featuring Ky Fifer (USA) on vocals and more than thirty guest musicians from around the world. The album received critical acclaim and once again, Bol and Fifer combined forces for the creation of their second album, Perpetual Immobile (2018). This endeavor showcased collaborations with over 50 international musicians and explores deep philosophical themes through progressive pop-rock soundscapes. After six years, Philhelmon’s highly anticipated third album, Into the Mist of Time (2024) completes the Pop-Prog trilogy with a deep reflection on the fleeting nature of time in a dystopian world. Blending progressive rock with captivating melodies, this international studio project, led by Henk Philhelmon Bol, Ky Fifer and guest musicians, explores themes of life, society, and human resilience. Into the Mist of Time exclusive release via OOB Records in digital and cd format.
