Ashes of the Righteous is a new progressive rock studio project driven by the vision of mastermind Peter Lazar. Serving as the album’s composer, producer, and creative core, this Swedish multi-instrumentalist handles guitars and keyboards while crafting a powerful blend of progressive rock, metal, and cinematic storytelling. Every composition reflects his passion for melody and deep emotional atmosphere. From the earliest concepts to the final production, Peter has meticulously brought together an exceptional lineup of internationally acclaimed musicians to realize his ambitious vision. His dedicated leadership serves as the foundational landscape for the entire project, allowing the album’s story of human resilience to come vividly to life.
The project’s immersive narrative is shaped by five other world-class core artists. Acclaimed Australian vocalist and lyricist Mark Truey Trueack (Unitopia, UPF) serves as the project’s vocal and lyrical architect, writing every lyric with intelligence and emotional depth. Adding essential dimension to the progressive soundscapes is Swedish keyboardist Johan Chasseur, a veteran of the Norwegian hard rock band Stage Dolls who infuses the tracks with rich cinematic textures. On the low end, legendary American bassist Don Schiff brings over five decades of elite experience—including work with icons like Elvis Presley and Tina Turner—to provide an unmistakable sound using the innovative NS/Stick. He is joined by celebrated Swedish bassist Ken Sandin (Alien, Kee Marcello), a longtime collaborator of Peter’s who anchors the rhythm section with his signature powerful groove and decades of Scandinavian melodic rock expertise. Delivering the backbone for the entire album is award-winning Spanish drummer Chus Gancedo, an elite educator and LCCM graduate who provides an incredibly precise and dynamic percussive foundation. Also featuring special guest appearance by guitarist Alen Brentini, who elevates the project with his exceptional, soaring guitar solos. Debut album, ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ to be released Autumn 2026 via OOB Records.
