Daymoon are a Portuguese progressive rock band led by multi-instrumentalist Fred Lessing, based in Sintra, Portugal. Since their debut in 2011, they’ve woven together elements of 70s prog, jazz, world music and cinematic soundscapes, crafting deeply emotional and intellectually rich albums like All Tomorrows (2011), Fabric of Space Divine (2013), the intimate Cruz Quebrada (2016) about confronting loss – and the politically charged Erosion (2022). Their sound is marked by a broad array of instruments—flutes, clarinets, trumpet, saz, ethnic percussion added by standard rock instruments—and a rotating line‑up of guest artists. The band’s albums traverse personal tragedy, environmental anxiety, and social critique, all while retaining a strong prog-rock foundation. Daymoon offer a unique, genre‑spanning musical journey—bold, reflective, and multilayered, fusing heartfelt storytelling with progressive and experimental flair. In 2025 the band signed with OOB Records for release of their fifth album, WEDNESDAY (2026)
